Endings

26May09

I’m sure it’s a cliché that people return from holiday declaring that they need another one to get over it, but maybe things become clichés because they’re true! Without wishing to sound ungrateful for my trip to the Caribbean (courtesy of the in-laws!), I wouldn’t have chosen to go somewhere so hot; I think I [...]

Mash

19Mar09

Mash wasn’t meant to make it through the winter; I found him dead this morning. It looks like he was just too weak. The weather hasn’t been warm enough for him to want to eat, and he went back to sleep for a bit, like Pie. It got sunny and warmer yesterday and today, so [...]

I’m fairly sure I made a few people smile today. It’s been a mix of almost every kind of weather here, but mostly the hair-tangling gusty type of weather; not what I wanted when I was walking home from the shops. With my hair wrapped right across my face by the wind, I clutched onto [...]

So, yesterday’s headache about Someone Else’s Neighbours I described as “thoroughly dull”. Well, the headache continues and it certainly didn’t let me down today! After taking the decision to forget trying to get any work done today, we spent it supervising a fencing guy (think posts and panels, not swords…) – the lucky thing… It [...]

I’m all skippy about:

The weather – loving those perfectly chilly blue-skied sunny mornings!
Finishing Memoirs of a Geisha. I borrowed it from Emma too long ago to admit, but I think she’ll forgive me. It was good, I’m going to feel a bit lost without it.
Redecorating the so-called office. Started painting it today and can’t wait [...]
