This is… what I’m surprised I like

When I was much younger than I am today, I was quite scared of dogs. Not just the big, barking, teeth-everywhere kind, but pretty much all dogs. I was never one of those kids who begged my parents for a puppy; cats, rabbits and hamsters were my thing, well within my comfort zone. I have just never been a dog person, but something strange is happening: I am in love with pugs.

I can’t pinpoint the exact moment this change took place, nor anything specific that may have caused it. Pugs have crept up on me with their squashed-face, snuffling ways and captured my heart by stealth. I did not see it coming at all.
