I’ve been a lazy little blogger the past few days, think I’ve either been too busy or maybe just uninspired – and preoccupied! In just over 6 hours I’m getting a taxi to the airport, so I really should be asleep right now; it’s not going to be pretty in the morning! Very excited, looking [...]

I’m so chuffed with Dolly!
After months of teasing and affectionate derision from Lloyd, the girl has done me proud. This afternoon we went out into the garden and she was nowhere to be seen. We almost tripped over each other trying to get to the eglu first; Lloyd slid the top open, and there she [...]

Relief

21Apr08

After yesterday, I was nervous about letting the chickens out this morning. I could hear a faint cackling coming through the window as I woke up, so I knew someone was ok… and I couldn’t stand not knowing they were all alright, I had to get up.
Walking up the garden, I was really surprised at [...]

Lloyd has said many times how chickens come in 2 states – healthy or dead. He says you just don’t see ill chickens. I couldn’t understand how he could be so accepting of the fact an animal could he happily going about its business one moment, then riding the fast train to Pet Heaven the [...]

Surprise…

17Apr08

Got another wall painted today – 3 creamy, 1 blue – so I guess I’m halfway there. The room will probably sit there for weeks now before I can bring myself to finish it!
Oh, and the courier? He came yesterday!
And refused to take the table.
Bollocks.

If you ask people to list their Least Favourite Things To Do, I’m fairly sure waiting in all day for a courier will be up there near the top – perhaps just beaten by waiting in all day for a courier that doesn’t turn up. Welcome to my tuesday.
It wasn’t all bad. As I had [...]

I love rainbows. This one found me in Woodbridge last friday after it chucked it down intensely for about 2 minutes in the middle of glorious sunshine.
This little guy was the only one who didn’t hop away as we walked past. Sweeeeet.
After many evenings of teenage nostalgia, the My So-Called Life dvd has [...]

I’m all skippy about:

The weather – loving those perfectly chilly blue-skied sunny mornings!
Finishing Memoirs of a Geisha. I borrowed it from Emma too long ago to admit, but I think she’ll forgive me. It was good, I’m going to feel a bit lost without it.
Redecorating the so-called office. Started painting it today and can’t wait [...]

WINNER!!

05Apr08

Fun week. Went to the theatre for the first time in… ever?..on thursday night – an adaptation of Edward Gorey’s ‘The Doubtful Guest’ tempted us out. It was an amusing and enjoyable performance, except now I’m itching to buy more of his books. Lloyd’s still toying with the idea of tattooing a Gashlycrumb somewhere on [...]
